Peter Carter, Vice-President

Pete Carter is the DOT avalanche forecaster for the State of Alaska at Thompson Pass. He is originally from Canada and has made his home in Valdez with his family for more than 15 years. He is a professional member of both the American and Canadian Avalanche Associations. He is passionate about sharing information and knowledge and is a strong advocate for a one-entry point avalanche forecast center for the State of Alaska to make it easy for the public to find and utilize information.

He believes one of the most important roles that AAIC plays in Alaska is the bringing together of all snow fighters and educators for networking and collaboration during the annual Alaska Snow Safety Summit.
