General Observations

Port of Valdez, Comstock up to 3600’ N-E aspects. No wind.

Soft snow on lower elevations in the trees. Started to see wind effect on snow surface around 2500’. Varying from thin wind crust to more defined wind board up to 3 inches w/ some collapsing underfoot. Noted ~4 in wind crust under ~1.5 ft snow on NE aspect of Comstock from 2500’- 3000’. Evidence of small, loose slides observed at entrance of Comstock Couloir (around 3100’). Variable and wind affected snow in the couloir w/ wind crust present on climber’s right.
