General Observations
A good friend was kind enough to share these photos with me. A natural avalanche caused by rapid wind loading from the North winds last Saturday. Location is the NE shoulder of Old Faithful, ~3,200’, ~35 degree slope.
Of note: ~35 degree slope / around rocks or thin spots / rapid loading / repeat offender /
Questions: What weak layer did it fail on? The basal facets(ground) or a rain crust with facet (mid pack) or just a old/new interface??
