General Observations

Transitional zone, Flower tree line.  Temps just below freezing 32F.  Moderate winds out of the S-SE.  Snow showers, overcast skies.

Was teaching a HAC sled avy course.  Given the considerable avy forecast and poor structure found in top 3’ of snowpack we keep to terrain under 30 degrees.  Snow pit tests did not show propagating results, but did find the MLK crust with facets above and below it (poor structure) in the 2500’ elevation band.  Used terrain management and good decision making to find slopes to safely use.
