General Observations

Glory Hole:

Treacherous ascent to subalpine (postholing + hard pack icy snow). Strong NW wind affecting entire area. Noticed wind slab starting to form just below tree line and above. Wind also thoroughly scouring ridges. Numerous and extensive natural avalanches visible on all aspects. Shallow crown on N facing slides (debris from recent storm), however most of S face of 3865 slid to the ground. Stayed on mellow terrain and skied ~800 of decent pow below tree line. Suffer fest, but better than sitting on the couch!

Heard tell of sunny, calm pow on Ripinski summit/ridge. Sneaky NW wind apparently targeted our location.
