General Observations
Fruit Bowl. 2300',3pm. Snowing, fog, light winds. 110 cm in the pack. 50 cm of new snow on top of that old icy crust, which is expanding and weakening. 10 cm of facets at ground level. No action at all in the PST, 6 taps on the ECT gave a meager unsatisfying collapse.(no way to get failure on the ECT at the icy layer…30 taps.) The skiing was excellent, visibility- meh. No outward signs of instability beyond the storm snow, wind loading, and weak layer at ground level. Sluffing might be an issue on steeper slopes but not observed.
