General Observations

AIARE Level 1 PWSC class: We toured up to about 1200 feet elevation on the pipeline access road at 16 mile. The snow depth was about 40 cm and upon observation of the layers in the snow, we were able to verify poor structure with facets. 14 cm of new snow over a wind slab with weak facets below. At 1415 snowfall began with temperatures increasing, light winds from NE. Need more snow for good coverage for riding.
