General Observations

Lutak Zone Northern aspect had 4-6" of new snow and above 1500' Monday's snow became denser where the wind had affected the snow (wind slab). Every slope above 1500' was whumphing, failing under the new snow/wind slab on a 1/2" soft crust with 4-6" of faceted crud below that down to a hard supportive crust. This upper slab would collapse, drop, but did not pop (no shooting cracks, or propagating slopes) – just a slow rumble everywhere, even while riding 15-degree slopes. Beware of steep 35-degree +, wide open terrain, with entraining terrain features, in other words…. Have an escape route planned, or don't be there!
