General Observations
We toured to the lower Catcher’s Mitt area via the pipeline cut from the Worthington Glacier parking area. We noticed moderate to strong northwinds transporting snow throughout the day. At elevation 2800ft we saw on our south west test slopes easily triggered wind slabs. The test slopes slide 1-2′ down, the winds slabs failed on facets sitting atop the raincrust. With a little more force on our snowpack tests we also observed failure at the basal facets. We confirmed the avalanche forecast for dec. 6.
