Transition zone – NW aspect @ approximately 4,600’. Observed several new smaller avalanches along with increased sluff activity.  Substantial amounts of new snow over the past week and generally stable snow conditions in the more protected areas.  Noticeable wind loading on ridge lines and lesser protected aspects.

Transitional Zone: 3600’/E-Aspect/Few clouds/Calm/25F-32F. The sun was pumping heat throughout the day. Isothermal snow at lower elevations on solar aspects that gradually firmed up around 1500′. 6-8 inches of several day old, moderately wind effected powder in the Castner valley floor, along with multiple hard-packed trails to the cave. Further up the valley, away from the road, and on Rum Doodle it looked like it has stayed wind free. 

Catcher Mitt Flats. 18F/strong NE wind/moderate to intense wind transport/clear sky Strong outflow wind was stripping ridgetops and building sastrugi through Thompson Pass today and yesterday. Steep gully walls were crossloading. About 5pm a snow kiter triggered a size 2 pocket of windslab on a west facing gully wall, lookers left of Schoolbus (MP 28).
