General Observations

We toured into the basin to the west of Crud Busters and observed widespread 3-6mm surface hoar on the surface between 3,000 to 5,000 feet. At 4,000 feet on a northeasterly aspect, we dug two pits in close location to each other and found buried surface hoar 50cm down. In an extended column test, there was failure with full propagation on the 25th and 30th taps (ECTP25 and ECTP30). The slab over the persistent weak layer was fist to 1-finger hardness and with a firm slick temperature crust below the weak grains.
