General Observations
Tour up Northwest Billy basin, climbed up a northeast aspect to around 5500 feet. Faceted snow surface with 2-4 inch wind slab buried at varying depths sitting a more facets. No formal pits were analyzed. Skied northeast aspect up to 45 plus degree with significant but isolated pockets of slab avalanche pulling out under ski. This was easily managed and did not propagate more then a few feet in front and behind the skis all below. This was observed on unsupported isolated pockets on northeast and northwest aspects. Fast moving sluff was also observed. Skies were clear and cold temperatures. Very light winds.
