General Observations

Very sunny and warm weekend on Castner Glacier, almost no wind. We went 3 miles in, close to a second ice cave and ice ledge to practice prusiking. Upper snow layer in some areas up to knee deep and very dry. Almost impossible to compress to build tent base. On hills often windblown with very thin / no powder and hard icy base. At some areas no ice base but directly rock underneath powder. Night was cold and the tent bases and paths we cut with skis solidified.
