General Observations

Lutak Zone: Low angle solar terrain has crusted over with the cooler temps while steep solar slopes are still running through a diurnal melt-freeze cycle. Shaded terrain unaffected by wind is skiing great with 5-15cm of small near surface facets making travel easy and fast. Went looking for wind slab around treeline and didn't find any evidence of recent N winds around Mt. Ripinski, although across the inlet, 2 wet slab avalanches ran while I watched around 1PM. Both went in steep solar terrain cross loaded by N winds. Size 2, crowns 30-60cm (est).

See pit profile for more info. I dug in an planar, open terrain exposed to both N and S winds. Mostly non-reactive snowpack, 115cm HS, most concerning layer was around a thick crust down 25cm, topped with a layer of facets although test results around this layer proved non reactive.
