General Observations

Lutak Zone: 2300’/N-Aspect/Obscured/Heavy snowfall/Calm then moderate south wind/Near 32F. Upper snowpack was warming up without the cold dry storm slab from Monday. Temperatures were peaking near 32F but stayed cool enough for it to stay snow. 25cm of fresh deposits over 5cm of settled snow from 3/16 and 15cm from 3/15. Found four intermittent melt-freeze crusts (see photo) down 75cm, 80cm, 100cm and 110cm. Worth keeping an eye on these especially at elevations below 3000′. The knife hard melt-freeze crust down 110cm was thick at 4cm. Main concern was any terrain wide enough and steep enough to bring down all the new heavy storm snow, especially avoiding terrain traps and tree-wells.
