General Observations

Lutak Zone: 2100’/N-Aspect/Obscured to Broken/Moderate South Wind/30F. South wind was gusting strong enough to knock snow off the trees. Visibility came and went all day with thick clouds rolling in and clearing as high clouds passed overhead. New snow at the surface was 4″ of dry to moist over a supportable crust. Because it was dense at this elevation it wasn’t blowing around, however would suspect anywhere higher up where it was lighter and drier that it was loading pretty good from the south wind. Surprised to find a few punchy melt-freeze crusts above 1,500′ that were less pronounced closer to 2,000′. Noteworthy about the poor structure. Noticed previous wind loading clues on features now buried under the fresh deposits. Total snow depths of 280-320cm+.
