General Observations
Lutak Zone: 3000’/W-Aspect/Overcast/Calm/17F. Weak faceted snow at the surface between 10-25cm deep, including needle surface hoar over a thin crust. Below 2500′ punchy facet crust combos in the upper 25cm of snowpack. Basically weak sugar snow, or near-surface facets over a hard crust everywhere. Any future load will pose significant avalanche hazard between the old snow and new snow interface. Because of the weak layer continuity at the surface now, we need to be heads-up about slide propagating further than expected with any significant accumulation, or wind loading.
