General Observations

Chilkat Pass Zone: 2000'/SW/sunny clear sky/20F/N-wind light-moderate. 8" of unconsolidated snow near the road. No surface rain or melt-freeze crusts observed. At treeline localized wind effect snow. Above treeline evidence of wind loading and cross loading. Didn't see any recent avalanche activity. No glaring signs of instability. Didn’t perform any stability tests. Still found the old snow interface over a meter down. Mount McDonnell had wind texture and small cornice lips on north and south features.
