General Observations
Lutak Zone: 2,600′ S-aspect/air temp 2C/sunny/calm/snowpack depth ~55cm. About 4 inches of new snow on top of a 2 inch Pencil crust with 4F to 1F mostly frozen facets below that. This gave the snowpack a supportive feel in most places, however in isolated areas of the terrain the crust softens and gave way to cracking underfoot, see photo. Plenty of roller-ball activity on the surface, with warmer temps and sunshine. Surface hoar is forming between 2,000-2,500ft in and around trees. Riding quality was good.
