General Observations
Lutak Zone: Ripinsky Meadow near main trail at 2500'/E-aspect/Clear/NW Winds/Light-Gusts-Moderate/Temps 0F! Most noteable are the 15cm!! of loose sugary near-surface facets (NSF) over a stout 4cm knife hard melt-freeze crust. As for an avalanche recipe we have a weak layer, a rock hard bed surface and are missing a slab over top. Saw visible wind transport near ridge-tops loading lee-ward slopes. Wind slab is lurking there which would add a slab over the weak layer and bed surface. Be especially heads up with any new snow/wind transport as bonding will be slow, given the very cold surface temperatures. Cleared off the Ripinsky Wx Station, the anemometer should be working properly now.
