General Observations
Lutak Zone: 1800’/NW-aspect/Overcast-Valley Fog 1000-1500’/Light Snow/Calm/29F. Isothermal snowpack below treeline with a thin surface melt-freeze crust that started around 1500′. There was snow on the trees above 2200′ so it may have stayed cold enough above that. A few melt-freeze and ice layers in the top foot of snow. Down 3′ there was a fairly stout ice layer. Most of the snowpack was rounded snow and noticeably saturated at the lower elevations. Coverage was 5-7′ deep in most places.
