General Observations
Lutak Zone: 3,000′ NE-aspect air temp -7C overcast moderate NW wind snowpack 108cm. Stout crust from this last storm in the upper 10cm of the snowpack. This supportive layer is difficult to kick into with a slick rime ice surface. Hard failures down 30cm below a 2cm rain crust on CT19&23 SC, ECTN30. Down 98-100cm 4F melt-freeze facets with refrozen basal facets to the ground. Overall plastered out there above 1500′ – rock hard conditions in places – best snow was at 2000′-2500′ in the trees.
