General Observations
Poked around Dick’s creek today. Very variable snow. Most of new snow had settled into a loose in some places and hard in others slab about 10cm deep. Did an ECT at 1300M on NW 22 degree slope. Top 10 cm Q3 break 15. 28 made a hollow layer at 70cm settle but not slide out. Several skier triggered loose dry sluffs on steeper slopes where wind deposited storm snow had settled. Overall, snow felt sketchy as it needs more time to settle. Keep in mind new snow is either on surface hoar, wind deposited loose snow, or wind slab.
Pick terrain wisely, choose slopes with good run outs, and remember what new snow is on top of.
