General Observations

Driving through the range and decided to stop and dig a quick pit to see how the new snow is adding to the existing snowpack. A short climb up Army Hill, just south of Rainbow Ridge. Localized whumphing. Some small point releases noted on steeper slopes; these were shallow and likely the recent new storm snow. A larger D2 avalanche was noted on a north facing slope on the lee side of a ridge over on “Dood” Ridge.

Snowprofile attached. Relatively shallow (62cm) and wind effected pit location. CTN and ECTX.

It will be interesting to see what the winds do to the new snow and how those windslabs build and bond. The long chains of depthhoar at the bottom of the snowpack is certainly a concern.
