General Observations

Flat light and wind effected snow thwarted our plan to head up Girls. Decided to dig a pit at the bottom and poke some snow instead.

Base of Girls, 2300ft, South Aspect. Overcast skies, calm winds. Partial profile.

HS 164cm, Foot Pen 8cm (but highly variable). Air temp -15C.

We found the main weakness in the snowpack to be within the more recent snow, about 10cm and 17cm depth (they gave us results of ECTN4 and ECTN12 respectively) The knife hard layer with super slick top was sitting at 29cm deep here, but we couldn’t get any action at that interface.
