General Observations

The goal was to ski East Mahogany today. The fading light prevented us from getting into the run so we turned around got back on the sleds and enjoyed some deep overhead sled turns. Moderate winds from the SE in the last 24 hrs did not do as much damage as expected. There's not too many times you see Flower Ridge without a hard wind packed surface, today was one of them.

We dug a test pit a 4100' – on the sub ridge between Flower Mountain and East Mahogany. NE asp. 22 degree slope. HS 410cm.

The depth of our pit was 180cm. Staircase hardness profile, completely right side up with no large density steps. A very beautiful snow pack in this specific spot. Did not observe any Mfcr or facets over 1mm.

Tests showed: CTM15 PC (Q2) down 50 on DF's.

                        CTH25 RP (Q3) down 65 on Stellars (six-fold star-like) and small rounds

Here's to hoping the rest of the front range looks like this test pit. Not likely but we can always wish.  Pray for blue skies.
