General Observations
This morning I took a drive up the highway from my home at 35 mile. I had good look at the Jarvis Glacier, Mt McDonell, Glacier Creek/Saksia Glacier, Porcupine Creek valley, Four Winds, North end of Takshanuk and the front range of Tsirku/Tahkin Ridge. My focus was to identify any large slab avalanches. I did not see any. However, I did see dry loose avalanches below a few steep rock bands and on unsupported steep terrain, typical for soft light storm snow.
Rode off the summit of Old Faith (East Face) multiple times with multiple riders with no avalanche activity. There was 40cm’s of very low density storm snow that seemed to bond well to the old snow. Winds were calm on the summit, sunny with a high temp of -8 C at 1600 meters.
