General Observations

11/30- Catchers Mitt up to 3500′. Overcast/ moderate to strong SE-SW winds with moderate drifting snow/ No precipitation at the start of the tour turning to moderate snow at the end.

Collapsing- Yes, some very large in thin areas

Shooting Cracks- No

Avalanches-No

Found that storm snow had been redistributed by wind with exposed high points blown down to the ground.  In more protected areas storm snow had settled to 45 cms.  Upper snowpack was right side up with the new snow showing signs of bonding to older snow layers.  The bottom of the snowpack had poor structure (strong over weak).  Stability tests produced ECTP21 and ECTP23 down 150 cms failing on 2-4mm basal facets at the ground. Pit was at 3500’/SW aspect 15° slope/ HS 150 cms.
