General Observations

 

3/1- Crudbuster up to 4000’/ Clear/ Calm/ N-NW aspects

No signs of instability were observed throughout the day, although poor structure near the bottom of the pack could be felt with a probe and pole probing.  Found  2-3 inches of new snow atop a melt freeze crust up to 2300’.  Above 2300’  dry snow existed with no wind effect. 3-4 mm surface hoar was widespread up to the 4000’ line were we ended, and appeared to be getting bigger with elevation gain.  Pit results at 3800’ did not show signs of an unstable snowpack.  ECTX/ PST END 100/125 down 125.
