General Observations

2/6- Hippie Ridge up to 4700’/ South aspect/ Clear,Clam.

Shooting cracks-Yes- very small cracks around skis in the surface snow above 4000′.  Did not radiate.

Collapsing- No

Avalanches- No

Found 6-8 inches of dry snow atop a rain crust in the flats (below 2500′).  Rain crust was decomposing with facets developing beneath.  Above 2500′ found 4-6 inches of dry snow atop very hard wind affected snow (pencil+).  Surface snow was unaffected by wind until 4000′.  Above 4000′ new snow had been redistributed into cross loaded gullies, did not test the reactivity of these features.  Good stability was observed along entire route.  Snowpit profile attached below.
