General Observations
Lutak zone at 2,500′. Very tough trailbreaking through 90cm of new pow, settling to 80cm. Almost too deep to ski. Scary snowpack with widespread whumping and collapsing 1-2″ at a time. Layer failing was 75cm deep…mixed forms/facets above the 12/6 melt-freeze crust. Made us nervous and we avoided steep openings in the trees. A few great face shots but not worth venturing into steep open terrain.
