General Observations

Got into the alpine on North slopes of Ripinsky today. Skies mostly clear, winds light NW. No wind affect of the new snow or fresh wind slabs in this area. Dug a pit near 3300ft. Total snow depth was 200cm. Snowpack was mostly well bonded wind packed snow 1F in hardness. Felt a few softer layers in the top meter (4F), but tests in the pit showed no propagation. No other red flags or danger signs observed. However, I did hear-tell of skecthy conditions, whumphing, and recent avalanches from a nearby part of the Lutak zone, where the snowpack was thinner.
