General Observations
Observations from Jones Gap, Lutak Zone, 3000ft. North aspects have great skiing and good stability. 4-12″ of blower pow over pencil-hard rain/rime crust. In a few steep areas there was some softer layering under the crust, but overall well bonded. 5-10mm surface hoar is growing pretty much everywhere out there, alpine bowls included. Whatever snow comes after this is going to be landing on a very slick/weak surface. Ventured onto a S aspect and found it to be heavily wild loaded, crusty, and whumphing. Bad news! Stick to the north aspects where the snow is deep and the base is solid.
