General Observations
Grandchild's bowl base camp, sky is partly cloudy to clear. The temp. is 30F, and freezing is at sea level. Wind is light and variable with no precipitation. An incoming front is expected to start in the evening and continue until morning. Main concerns are a PWL at 35-40cm below snow surface. However, the hard slab is stubborn. Wet loose snow is another concern at surface level on solar aspects; this is also stubborn. Cornices have formed on N/W aspects @ 3000+ ft. Travel advice: stick to ridges and trees.
