General Observations

Ripinsky 2400’. South facing slope angle 25 degrees. Packed powder with very evident week layer 80 cm down above the 12/6 melt freeze crust. Another layer 20 cm down failed on column test but was difficult to find in the pack. No obvious cracking or whumping under ski. Will be interesting to see what this next series of storms brings. One positive note, the heavy wet snow has buried much of the brush opening up the tree lines a bit.
