With board representatives from the Eaglecrest Ski Area, Alaska Powder Descents, The AEL&P Avalanche Program, The Coeur Alaska Avalanche Program, The State of Alaska Dept of Transportation, The National Weather Service, The Juneau Avalanche Forecast, Capital City Fire and Rescue, and Juneau Mountain Rescue, the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center acts as a hub to help support community based avalanche programs.
Founded in the late 90's by Alaska Avalanche Specialists Owner, Avalanche Forecaster, and Avalanche Researcher, Bill Glude.
A non-profit representing the interests of the Southeast Alaska Snow Community.
Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center is here to promote mountain safety through avalanche education, forecasting, and rescue training.
A relatively small fraction of terrain often frequented by back-country travelers has a professional daily avalanche forecast available. For this reason, the Alaska Avalanche Information Center encourages users to share what they see.
