Weather

We received 10 inches of snow last Friday. Since then weather has been cold and dry, while strong northerly wind has hammered the upper mountains.

Expect a dramatic change starting early Sunday. Models suggest 2 inches of water Sunday and Monday. Precipitation will start as snow to sea level, but the freezing level looks to climb to 1000 feet Monday. This should translate into 20 inches of snow in the upper mountains and a bunch of slop at sea level. Moderate to strong wind will load western aspects. The avalanche hazard will increase Sunday and peak Monday.
