A large storm brought heavy precipitation Sunday evening through Monday. The freezing line started at sea level and rose to around 1000 feet Monday night. 2-3 inches of water translated into 2-3 feet of new snow above 1000 feet. Moderate to strong wind loaded western aspects. Avalanche observations have been limited. Since then, mostly dry cold conditions have promoted stability, though variable north winds may create wind slabs at tree line and above.

A fast storm looks to bring over an inch of water Thursday night into Friday, with moderate to strong wind loading western aspects. This will translate into a foot of snow above 500 feet and some sort of mess at sea level. The avalanche hazard will probably increase Thursday night.
