The highway avalanche hazard is LOW.

The avalanche hazard should remain the same through the week.

Weather

We received 4.5 inches of water Sunday into Thursday. The freezing line fluctuated between sea level and the peaks. Strong wind loaded western aspects. We are left with some refrozen slush at sea level, a foot and a half at midmountain, and probably 4 feet plus in the upper mountains. Conditions have dried and cooled, allowing the avalanche hazard to decrease.

Expect cold and dry weather with moderate north wind through next week. This may create isolated wind slabs but otherwise the snowpack remains shallow and the avalanche hazard should be limited.
