Last week brought cold dry weather. Strong north wind Thursday and Friday hammered the snowpack, with most of the blowing snow sublimating into the atmosphere. Drastic change is now afoot.

Expect precipitation, heavy at times into Thursday. Models suggest 2 inches of water Sunday through Monday, and over 4 inches of water into Thursday. The freezing line will climb, eventually to our local peaks. Moderate to strong wind will load western aspects. Stay attune, as the avalanche hazard may increase quickly.
