Wednesday brought an inch of water with the freezing line fluctuating around mid-mountain. This translated into rain at sea level, 6 inches of wet snow at the top of the ski hill, and a foot of snow in the upper mountains. Moderate to strong wind loaded western aspects. Observations have been limited, though some human triggered avalanches occurred in the wet snow around 1500 feet. Conditions dried out Thursday and the freezing line came down last night, promoting snow stability.

Expect mostly dry and cool weather to continue through Monday. Backcountry users should use caution on steep western aspects at tree line and above.
