Weather

We received ¾ inch of water Sunday night into Monday. This translated into 3 inches of heavy snow at 1500 feet, and probably 6 inches in the upper mountains, with wind loading western aspects. Several small new snow slab avalanches occurred.

Expect 1 to 2 inches of precipitation in the next 2 days, with the freezing level near or above the peaks. This will probably initiate our spring shed. Backcountry users should be wary of steep slopes in general. The main highway hazard sits at the smaller 5 mile path, on the town side of the loop road.
