Weather

Winter returned last week, bringing snow down to sea level. 6 inches of water fell. The freezing line climbed to the peaks briefly Sunday before dropping back to sea level. The net result was 3 feet of new snow above 500 feet. Precipitation tapered Tuesday allowing stability to begin increasing.

Expect increasingly clear skies through the weekend. Cold temperatures at night will decrease the avalanche hazard. However, increasing sunshine and daytime temperatures will increase the hazard in the afternoon.
