Degrees of Avalanche Danger

Weather

We received 2 to 4 inches of water Monday through Tuesday, depending on where you stood. The freezing line mostly stayed above our local peaks, but left some new snow above 1500 feet Wednesday. Observations have been limited, though some avalanche activity probably occurred above tree line. At 1500 feet sits 2 feet of snow, with the top 4 inches new. The upper mountains have twice as much. Dry and cooling conditions in the last 24 hours have allowed the snow pack to drain and refreeze.

Expect dry and colder weather into Saturday. The avalanche hazard should continue to decrease through then.
