Last week brought 3 to 4 inches of water, with the freezing level fluctuating between sea level and our local peaks. Moderate to strong east wind loaded western aspects above tree line. Some avalanche activity occurred. Precipitation ended Wednesday and temperatures are decreasing, allowing the snow pack to drain and refreeze. We have little snow at sea level, near 3 feet at the top of the ski hill, and twice as much in the upper mountains.

At this point, it looks like cold and dry weather through the weekend. This will continue to decrease the avalanche hazard. We should see a change sometime early next week. Backcountry users should use caution around wind loaded convex slopes above tree line.
