Weather
We received 4 inches of water in the last week, with moderate to strong east wind and a freezing line fluctuating near sea level. This translated into 2 feet of heavy snow at sea level, 4 feet of new snow above 1500 feet, and twice as much on wind loaded western aspects above tree line. This is significant accumulation, though the rate has been subtle enough to only cause some small avalanche activity.
Expect dry cool weather to promote stability through next week. Backcountry users should heed extra caution Sunday while the snowpack adjusts. North wind may create wind slabs towards southern aspects Monday.
