Weather

Last Thursday brought an inch of water. While mostly rain at sea level, this translated into near a foot of snow above tree line. Avalanche activity occurred Thursday night and continued through the heat of the day Friday. Precipitation has tapered yet lingers, with wind continuing to load western aspects above tree line.

Expect conditions to dry out through Tuesday, promoting stability. The snowpack, however, still appears a little spooky in the upper mountains. Backcountry users should travel cautiously, especially around wind loaded convex slopes above tree line. Models suggest more precipitation Wednesday morning. The avalanche hazard may increase then.
