Weather

We received over 3 inches of water mostly Monday through Wednesday. The freezing line fluctuated from 1000 to 3000 feet, with strong winds loading western aspects. This translated into a foot or two of snow in the upper mountains, and twice as much on wind loaded western aspects. Observations have been limited, though avalanche activity probably occurred during the heat of the storm. Precipitation tapered Thursday, while temperatures warmed.

Expect dry weather to allow the snowpack to slowly heal. Increasingly warm sunshine through Monday, however, may usher in our spring shed. Backcountry users should be wary of sun baked slopes and cornice failures.
