The highway avalanche hazard is MODERATE

Weather

A quick storm will move through Sunday into Monday. Weather models suggest an inch of water with moderate wind loading western aspects. The freezing line looks to climb to mid mountain in the afternoon, and precipitation may be heavy at times. This will translate into a couple inches of slush at sea level and a foot of snow in the upper mountains. Some avalanche activity should be expected, especially on steep wind loaded western aspects. The hazard should decrease Monday night, after conditions dry and cool.
