Avalanche Activity

The highway avalanche hazard is MODERATE

Weather

We received 2 inches of water Monday into Wednesday. A fluctuating freezing line left a couple inches of slush at sea level and 2 feet of snow in the upper mountains, with moderate wind loading western aspects. Avalanche activity occurred during the storm. Dry cool weather has since promoted increasing snow stability.

Expect mostly clear skies the next 2 days, with some north wind. Sunshine may cause avalanche activity today, while cold temperatures at night will further promote stability.
